WOW! Internet Cable Phone VP of Data Management and Business Intelligence in Englewood, Colorado
The VP of Data Management & Business Intelligence is the technical owner for key enterprise-wide operational data and business intelligence. This role will be a key contributor and thought leader in the development of WOW's data warehouse platform. In addition to directly managing the central Data Management & BI team, this leader will provide guidance, direction and enablement support to BI and Analytics teams embedded within each of the business units.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
Lead a team of reporting and data analysis professionals and expand the team as needed based on the targeted business intelligence end-state.
Develop a talent enhancement plan for the team including development activities and career tracking.
Drives corporate strategy by ensuring enterprise data, BI activity and technologies are aligned
Work closely with business and technical teams in analysis of unique business problems and use creative-problem solving to deliver actionable output
Work with the Data architect to set the vision for the Data Management Program and build a roadmap to successfully implement data governance.
Expand dedicated support to other business areas as appropriate.
Oversee a team to provide ad-hoc business intelligence support.
Build-out high priority analytics verticals to provide insights around customer behavior in areas such as sales and marketing analytics.
Ensure the analytics team is positioned to support the needs of the various stakeholders and that their work is optimally aligned to deliver defined value toward targeted business strategies, consistent with the company's high-level objectives.
Ensure market best practices are used when making recommendations on what technology footprint should be used for reporting, data warehouse tools, etc.
Create and deliver on a strategic plan to evolve the methods by which forecasting is executed.
Deliver and lead the company through high-quality data-driven business analyses, empirically-derived analytic models, and strategies that address business issues and provide key insights.
Develop an ongoing revision of long-term strategic plans for analytics deliverables.
Inform and help develop machine learning and AI techniques to improve key processes across our business.
Establish and set benchmarks and key performance indicators of the overall health of business, as well as success metrics for product and marketing initiatives.
Advance the role of the business data stewards in each major business unit.
Champion and raise the bar across the organization in terms of analytical rigor while also bringing in new approaches and techniques.

Bacherlor's in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or Management preferred
Exceptional planning, organizational and communication skills
10-15 years of experience in data analytics in consumer internet space
5-10 years of experience in a leadership role with people management responsibilities
Cable/telecommunications industry experience preferred
Experience working with reference data and Master Data Management tools
Experience working with relational databases and SQL
Experience working with Big Data and distributed computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc.)
Experience working with analysts in a research/modeling environment that leverages tools such as R, SAS, or SPSS
Experience with predictive analytics and machine learning platforms
Experience with agile-based software development methodologies
Must be skilled in Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point and other related desk top programs and be capable of working within other customized computer programs.
